Dear Copper Mesa Community,
Everyone’s grass was so green for the first couple of months of summer and now with the heat, lawns are looking a little fried!! However, I do see some rain in the forecast for the next few days.

BACK TO SCHOOL GATHERING
Everyone appeared to have a blast at our annual Back to School Picnic last Friday evening. Thank you to our CMEA group for organizing this fun event. There were bouncy houses, Corn Hole games, a giant Jenga, a DJ, and of course food and Kona Ice. Ms. Laviaguerre was challenging students and parents at Corn Hole, while I threw a football around for a bit and socialized with our awesome current and former CME parents. I was so thankful that the weather quickly passed and it cooled things down nicely. What an awesome way to start off our new school year!!
BOOSTER FUNDRAISER
Our Booster Fundraiser has officially kicked off. With DJ Dylan as our Booster representative this year, our students are sure to have fun, learn some things through the daily videos, and enjoy the obstacle course on Friday, September 1st. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for our school. Staff members have been busy writing grants for items for school to enhance your kiddo's education and we are still finalizing our overall fundraising goal. Details coming soon. Thank you so much for supporting CME once again this year. Your kindness and generosity never ceases to amaze me!!
VISITING CLASSROOMS
There are times when your children may forget their water bottle, jacket, etc. and you run back into school before or after school to retrieve it. I just ask that if the teacher is not present in the room you have a staff member with you when entering. The ladies in the office are often available to help out, or if you see me or Ms. Laviaguerre, we are happy to join you. Thank you!
SAC MEMBERS
I know you are all busy writing your little bio as to why you would like to serve on SAC. We are looking for some new members who would like to learn more about the ins and outs of Copper Mesa and offer ideas about how to improve our school. I am always so appreciative of our parents who serve on SAC. I love meeting with this committee and we have been very fortunate to have passionate parents serve on SAC. We are also looking for a community member, an adult who does not have kiddos at Copper Mesa, but our school holds a special place in their heart. If you are interested in serving on SAC, just email me your bio and your interest by August 29th. Our first SAC meeting is on Monday, September 18th beginning at 4:00 pm in our library. If you have any questions, just let me know!!
Enjoy the cooler weekend!!
