Dear Copper Mesa Cougar Community,
We’re officially down to just 11 days of school—summer is right around the corner! As we wrap up the year, we’ve had so many exciting things happening around CME.
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming new families during our Open House! Our amazing 6th grade tour guides did a fantastic job showing families around and sharing what makes Copper Mesa so special. We loved seeing new faces and are looking forward to welcoming even more Cougar families in the years to come!
DCSD Art Show
A huge shoutout to Ms. Karli Burke for guiding and supporting our student artists in preparing submissions for the 2025 DCSD Art Show. We’re incredibly proud of our talented Cougars!

6th Grade Kickball vs. Staff
Last week’s annual 6th Grade vs. Staff Kickball Game was a hit! With the whole school cheering from the sidelines, the staff managed to pull off a hard-fought win against both 6th grade classes. Even our SRO, Deputy Taylor, got in on the action (and left a little muddy after a dramatic slide into home!). It was a fantastic afternoon full of fun, laughter, and a touch of next-day soreness for the staff!
Employee Appreciation Week
Wow! From the bottom of all our collective hearts, we would like to say thank you for all the sweetness in recognizing our staff this week! We have had so much fun with notes, and flowers, and all the lovely goodies our families have sent in! A big shout out to CMEA for providing our staff with yummy treats in the staff lounge!! These kinds of things bring everyone together in good conversations and lots of laughs! We love you all!!!
As always, thank you for your continued support and for being such a vital part of the Cougar community. Let’s finish the year strong!

The Lost and Found Boutique is back again! Please come and look through all our coats. You might be surprised at what you will find! We will be donating all lost and found at 4pm on May 23, 2025!

Kindergarten registration If you are currently enrolled in DCSD Preschool and you live in our boundary, you will automatically roll to us! All other Kindergarten students, enroll at the above link! If you live outside of our boundary but would like to attend CME, please open enroll here!
